On 6 October 2026, the Associate Professor Dr. Apinan Suwanarak, Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries Technology and Aquatic Resources, Maejo University, met with representatives from the Institute of Vocational Education Northern Region 1 and the Chiang Mai College of Agriculture and Technology to discuss the development of articulation pathways that connect vocational education with higher education.

The discussion focused on establishing continuing education programs that would provide vocational students with expanded opportunities to pursue further studies in fisheries and aquaculture, including progression to master's and doctoral degree programs, as well as studies in agricultural innovation.

Participants exchanged ideas on educational approaches that align with the knowledge and practical experience of vocational learners. Emphasis was placed on integrating hands-on skills with academic knowledge, technology, and innovation to support both higher education opportunities and workforce development that meets the needs of the fisheries and production sectors.

This collaboration marks an important first step toward developing seamless educational pathways that enable students to advance their expertise and career prospects. The proposed curriculum and implementation details will be further reviewed and developed through the appropriate approval processes of the participating institutions.
