วันที่ 24 เมษายน 2569 รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร.วีระพล ทองมา อธิการบดีมหาวิทยาลัยแม่โจ้ พร้อมด้วยคณะผู้บริหารมหาวิทยาลัย หัวหน้าส่วนงาน และบุคลากร เข้าร่วมพิธีสักการะและดำหัวเจ้าแม่แม่โจ้ และเจ้าพ่อแม่โจ้ สิ่งศักดิ์สิทธิ์ประจำมหาวิทยาลัยที่ชาวแม่โจ้ยึดถือ เพื่อความเป็นสิริมงคลแก่ตนเองและองค์กร ณ มหาวิทยาลัยแม่โจ้

พิธีดังกล่าวจัดขึ้นเพื่อแสดงความเคารพศรัทธาต่อสิ่งศักดิ์สิทธิ์คู่มหาวิทยาลัย และเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของการสืบสาน “ป๋าเวณีปี๋ใหม่เมือง” หรือประเพณีสงกรานต์แบบล้านนา ประจำปี 2569 อันเป็นมรดกทางวัฒนธรรมที่สำคัญของภาคเหนือ ซึ่งสะท้อนถึงคุณค่าแห่งความกตัญญู ความสามัคคี และความผูกพันของชุมชนชาวมหาวิทยาลัยแม่โจ้

ในการนี้ รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร.อภินันท์ สุวรรณรักณ์ คณบดีคณะเทคโนโลยีการประมงและทรัพยากรทางน้ำ ได้เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมดังกล่าวด้วย เพื่อร่วมอนุรักษ์และสืบทอดขนบธรรมเนียมประเพณีอันดีงาม พร้อมเสริมสร้างความเป็นสิริมงคลและความร่วมแรงร่วมใจในองค์กร

มหาวิทยาลัยแม่โจ้ยังคงยึดมั่นในการส่งเสริมและทำนุบำรุงศิลปวัฒนธรรมท้องถิ่น ควบคู่กับการพัฒนาวิชาการและการบริหารจัดการมหาวิทยาลัยอย่างยั่งยืนต่อไป

Faculty of Fisheries Technology and Aquatic Resources at Maejo University on April 24 joined a traditional blessing and water-pouring ceremony held as part of the annual Pi Mai Muang celebrations, marking the northern Thai New Year.

The ceremony was presided over by Associate Professor Dr. Weerapon Thongma, President of Maejo University, together with members of the university’s executive management, heads of departments and staff. Participants paid homage and performed the dam hua rite to Chao Mae Maejo and Chao Pho Maejo, the guardian spirits revered by the Maejo community, in a ceremony aimed at bringing good fortune to individuals and the institution.

The event forms part of efforts to preserve Pa Weni Pi Mai Muang, the traditional Lanna New Year observed in northern Thailand, which emphasises gratitude, unity and respect within the community.

Associate Professor Dr.Apinun Suvarnaraksha, Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries Technology and Aquatic Resources, also attended the ceremony, underscoring the faculty’s participation in cultural preservation and community activities within the university.

Maejo University said the annual observance reflects its commitment to safeguarding local traditions while advancing academic development and sustainable institutional management.
