On 1 November 2026, Associate Professor Dr. Apinun Suvarnaraksha, Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries Technology and Aquatic Resources, Maejo University, participated as an honorary witness at the University Innovation Showcase & Business Linkage for Commercialization and Maejo Licensing Day 2026, held at the Convention Center, 2nd Floor, The Empress Hotel, Chiang Mai. The event was organized to promote the commercialization of knowledge, research outcomes, and innovations through collaboration between academia and industry.
The event marked a significant achievement for the Faculty of Fisheries Technology and Aquatic Resources, with three research innovations receiving licensing agreements out of a total of five technologies licensed during the event, accounting for 60% of all licensing agreements signed. This accomplishment reflects the Faculty’s strong capability in developing research and innovations with tangible commercial and industrial applications.
Among the licensed technologies were two research innovations developed by Associate Professor Dr. Nisara Kitcharoen:
- Organic Fish Production Technology Using a Biofloc System and Organic Pelleted Feed Production
- Production Technology for Organic Fish Growth-Promoting Additives in Biofloc Culture Systems
These technologies focus on enhancing aquaculture productivity while supporting environmentally sustainable farming practices through innovative production systems and feed development.
In addition, Associate Professor Dr. Duangporn Amornlertpaisarn contributed one licensed research innovation, further demonstrating the Faculty’s commitment to advancing fisheries and aquaculture technologies for commercial utilization.
The Faculty also showcased student-developed innovations, including RotiCap and Gec Gec Go, highlighting the University's efforts to foster innovation-driven learning, prototype development, and the integration of academic knowledge with entrepreneurial opportunities.
This achievement aligns with the Faculty’s strategic direction to transform research outcomes into economic and social value through partnerships among universities, private enterprises, entrepreneurs, and local communities. It also emphasizes the importance of engaging students in a vibrant innovation ecosystem that supports creativity, commercialization, and sustainable development.
The success not only underscores the quality and potential of researchers within the Faculty of Fisheries Technology and Aquatic Resources but also represents another important milestone in advancing Maejo University’s vision of becoming an innovation-driven university, capable of transforming knowledge into value-added products and contributing to the sustainable development of the bio-based economy.
